Social Services - Customer Accountability/Quality Assurance & Training

This position will lead the Department of Social Services’ strategic planning process by identifying and assessing strategic initiatives and providing guidance on process and methodology. Will assess potential impact and formulate strategic recommendations in response to changes in legislation, funding, program policies and practices. Leads the agency’s accreditation process and develops plans for addressing gaps between departmental practices and business standards. Provides leadership in employee training and develops uniform training curricula. Manages the contract selection process. Oversees contract monitoring to ensure that vendors and the agency fulfill contract requirements. Oversees the Customer Information Center operations. This position will perform under the general supervision of the County Social Services Director and serve as the Department’s liaison to the media. Comprehensive knowledge of social work programs and public assistance is essential. Applicant must possess strong communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively work with a diverse population. Considerable knowledge of federal and state legislative processes and laws impacting social service organizations is essential.

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, communications, organizational management, public administration or a related field, and five years of social work, counseling, casework, strategic planning or related experience which includes three years of supervisory experience.
