Applying for a Child Welfare Scholar Service Award
Any social work student enrolled at a Collaborative participating university who is interested in direct practice employment in North Carolina child welfare is eligible to apply to be a Child Welfare Scholar. We also encourage those who are employed in public child welfare to consider continuing their education by applying to the Collaborative at a participating school of social work.Candidates complete a written application and interview with a selection committee. Service Awards are granted on an annual or semiannual basis and contingent upon satisfactory completion of all program requirements and availability of funds. If you have additional questions about becoming a scholar, contact the Collaborative Coordinator at one of the participating schools.
If you are working in child welfare services and considering going back to school, you may be interested in our "Which Way to Graduate School?" workshop . This 2-hour workshop serves to help prospective students understand how to prepare their graduate school package. Please contact the Collaborative Central office to find out about the workshops.
