Educating Professionals, Strengthening Families, Supporting Agencies
As the population of North Carolina increases, so does the need for professionally trained child welfare workers. The North Carolina Child Welfare Education Collaborative (NC-CWEC) is dedicated to meeting this challenge. Offering specialized instruction in public child welfare practice, the Collaborative grants financial support to students who commit to working in a county department of social service upon graduation.Bridging the efforts of public university social work programs and social work professionals, the Collaborative offers North Carolina a unique response to address the concerns facing public child welfare.
Our state is growing, and so is our program. Together, we can help raise the standard of child welfare in North Carolina. Come grow with us.
Students
Child Welfare Scholars are the best-equipped students going into the field. Financial and educational support prepares them for a lifelong career in child welfare.
Agencies
All students receive state-mandated child welfare pre-service training. Agencies are able to recruit and retain more qualified employees, saving both time and money.
North Carolina Child Welfare
Increasing the number and diversity of skilled child welfare practitioners throughout the state improves services and outcomes for the children and families of North Carolina.
