he Violence Prevention Coordinator will coordinate violence prevention efforts across campus through multidisciplinary and cross-departmental cooperative efforts to reach undergraduate, graduated/professional, and post-doctoral students. The Coordinator will provide messaging, assessment, education, training, and services related to prevention of interpersonal violence such as sexual and gender based harassment, sexual violence, interpersonal violence (dating and domestic violence), stalking, and hazing to the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. This position will implement evidence-based interpersonal violence prevention strategies such as promoting affirmative consent, bystander intervention, healthy, respectful relationships and communication and will also address other issues of violence prevention as determined through the use of regular needs assessments and literature reviews. The individual will also perform environmental and outcome assessments and maintain and compile data relevant to campus compliance with federal regulations and work in collaboration with the Equal Opportunity Compliance Office (including the Title IX team), the Gender Violence Services Coordinators, and other campus partners.

The position reports to the Senior Prevention Strategy Officer, working closely and collaboratively with colleagues in Student Wellness and beyond. The Violence Prevention Coordinator supervises paraprofessional (graduate-level) program assistants and undergraduate peer educators. The individual in this position will work closely with other campus health promotion professionals to develop and implement a holistic strategic plan supporting the health and wellness of Carolina students. All staff provide service to the department and campus community through training and participation in contribution to committees and support of Division activities.
