Panel discussion and teach-in planned on immigration and deportation

The Latinx Caucus and the Social Justice Action Committee are hosting a special program on immigration and deportation next month.

The event will include a panel and teach-in on Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building. The panel will be comprised of speakers from the N.C. Justice Center, a progressive research and advocacy organization focused on eliminating poverty; Alerta Migratoria, a community hotline led by immigrant womxn; and El Futuro, a community-based program that offers mental health services to the state’s Latino immigrant community. Panelists are expected to address immigration policy, family separation, the evolution of ICE, advocacy and activism, and more.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the speakers and ask questions.

Dinner will be provided by the Jordan Institute for Families.
