Alumni briefs: Maid, MSW ’09; Li, MSW ’07; Ph.D. ’13; Brice, Ph.D. ’03

Seth Maid, MSW ’09, was named director of membership and communication for the North Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Jilan Li, MSW ’07; Ph.D. ’13, died peacefully at her home in Chapel Hill on May 28. Li was an assistant professor in the sociology and social work department of N.C. A&T University.

Tonya Smith Brice, Ph.D. ’03, was named dean of the College of Professional Studies, the chief administrative and academic officer of the departments and programs at Bowie State University in Bowie, Md. Brice, who currently serves as the dean of the School of Health and Human Services of Benedict College in South Carolina, will assume her new role on July 16.
