Thirty-three students have enrolled in the UNC-PrimeCare program and are participating in field placements that extend from Asheville through Vance County. These internships provide the students with opportunities to work alongside medical providers in integrated health care settings. The students receive a generous stipend for their commitment to learn about integrated health care. In addition to their regular course load, students take a 1.5 credit course, “Social Work Practice in Integrated Health Care,” and participate in supplemental seminars and workshops focused on topics specific to integrated care. This is the fourth year of the UNC-PrimeCare program.
