Student Affairs team volunteers with Diaper Bank of NC

By Ashley McMillan, Assistant Director of Recruitment, Admissions & Financial Aid

The UNC School of Social Work’s Office of Academic and Student Services recently spent time volunteering with the Diaper Bank of North Carolina (DBNC). With offices in the Triangle, Triad, and Cape Fear regions, the DBNC works to ensure that families receive adequate diapers across the state. Diapers are a necessity for families that safety-net programs such as WIC and SNAP do not cover, creating a huge need in North Carolina, where 26 percent of children live below the poverty line. The Student Affairs team assisted with documenting inventory, recycling boxes, and wrapping 4,475 diapers to be dispersed in the community!
