Professor from China speaks on poverty solutions

On April 6 we welcomed a special visitor from China, Professor Meihua Zhu of the Department of Social Work at East China University of Science and Technology, who spoke at our School on “Poverty in Shanghai: Emerging Social Work Solutions.”

Dr. Zhu was a visiting professor at the UNC School of Social Work in 2013, and has collaborated with our faculty on a number of projects.

This presentation was part of the School’s “Tate Talks” series. Tate Talks feature emerging ideas and concepts in social work and social welfare. Speakers are selected because they are on the cutting edge in their fields and are pressing the boundaries of knowledge through their scholarship and research.
