Federal administrator meets with Family Support Program and DDTI staff

Sharon Lewis, principal deputy administrator of the U.S. Administration for Community Living and HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell’s senior advisor on disability, visited with staff of the Family Support Program (FSP) and Developmental Disabilities Training Institute (DDTI) at the School of Social Work on April 15, 2015.  The mission of the federal administration is to maximize the independence, well-being, and health of older adults; people with disabilities across the lifespan; and their families and caregivers.

Staff discussed such initiatives of the School of Social Work as technical assistance to the Family Support Network of North Carolina, and Rethinking Guardianship: Building a Case for Less Restrictive Alternatives, that address the administration’s mission.
