Alumni, field instructors needed for macro networking night March 24

All UNC School of Social Work alumni, field instructors and guests are cordially invited to attend Community, Management, and Policy Practice Networking Night on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the School’s lobby.

Networking Night is a very important event for our students who are interested in macro practice careers in social work. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to network with professionals in the field and to think about employment post-graduation, conduct job searches, and market themselves as macro social workers.

First-year students will be doing poster presentations from 5-6 p.m. on the work they have accomplished in their field placements. We encourage you to come early to view these poster presentations before the official program begins at 5:30.

At Networking Night, we want students to hear career advice from our alumni and to participate in informal small group discussion with faculty, alumni, and field instructors about social work careers. Community, Management, and Policy Practice Networking Night is also a good opportunity for you to re-connect with former classmates, faculty and others in the field. This is an important night to hear about and offer ideas concerning developments in the practice world and think through the implications for the macro concentration.

Our students tell us how much they enjoy hearing from and interacting with alumni at this event. The success of Community, Management, and Policy Practice Networking Night hinges on the participation of alumni, so we hope you will be able to join us.

Parking: The FedEx Global Education building parking deck (accessed on McCauley St., and located next door to the School of Social Work) is available at no charge after 5 p.m. Paid parking is available at the UNC Hospital Dogwood parking lot on Manning Drive. There is metered parking on Cameron and Franklin Streets. If you require an accessible parking spot, please let us know.
We look forward to your joining us for what promises to be an enjoyable evening!
