Michal Grinstein-Weiss and the Asset Building Research Group that she leads received a $45,000 award from the Annie E. Casey Foundation to support the Refund to Savings Initiative.

For this new research initiative, Grinstein-Weiss and the ABRG are partnering with behavioral economist Dan Ariely at Duke and with Intuit Corp, the makers of Turbo Tax, to test strategies to encourage low-income households to save part of their refund when filing taxes.
