Research grants awarded for pilot projects

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2011 Jane H. Pfouts research grants. This fund awards grants to School of Social Work faculty members to support small-scale or pilot, early-stage research related to practice theory and/or current practice issues.

  • Dr. Iris Carlton-LaNey: $3,400 for “An Examination of African American Adoption Agencies: Models for Contemporary Practice”
  • Dr. Rebecca Macy and Dania Ermentrout: $3,000 for “Legally-Involved Partner Violence Survivors and Substance Use: Improving Intervention Research Data-Collection Strategies”
  • Dr. Betsy Bledsoe and doctoral student Candace Killian: $2,900 for “A Complex Problem: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Interventions for Adolescents Coping with Complex Trauma”
  • Joanne Caye received a Pfouts Award earlier this year: $2,260 for “Developing Appropriate Interventions With Low Literacy Hispanics Who Are Learning English and Preparing to Become Citizens.”
