Pettus-Davis receives dissertation fellowship

Doctoral candidate Carrie Pettus-Davis has been selected to receive the Paul Hardin Dissertation Fellowship from UNC’s Society of Fellows for the academic year 2010-11.  The letter from the Graduate School noted that this is a very competitive fellowship and “this award represents our significant confidence in your exceptional scholarship, leadership abilities and your capability for contributing to the Society.”

The working title of Carrie’s dissertation is “Support matters: A randomized controlled pilot trial of a social support intervention for recently released prisoners with substance use disorders.” Matthew Howard chairs her committee, which includes Rebecca Macy, Jack Richman, Amelia Roberts-Lewis, Anna Scheyett and Jeffrey Draine (University of Pennsylvania).
