MSW applications up dramatically this year

The School of Social Work’s MSW program experienced tremendous growth in admissions applications this year.

“For the third year in a row, applications increased nearly 20%,” said Sharon Thomas, director of recruitment, admissions and financial aid.

Thomas said there were close to 600 applicants and the School will enroll about 160 students. “Students of color and men are holding at last year’s rates, 25% and 13% respectively. [And there’s] lots of interest in international social work, mental health, youth, women’s health issues and child welfare,” she noted.
