Florence Soltys '84, clinical associate professor
at the School of Social Work, received the 2003 Trustee of the Year Award
by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging in July.
The award is given in recognition of her outstanding service to Carol
Woods Retirement Community in Chapel Hill and to the field of long-term
care.
Soltys was nominated for the award by Patricia E. Sprigg,
president and CEO of Carol Woods Retirement Community, who praises for
Soltys as being a "forerunner in grassroots advocacy and social accountability."
